Isu Khutbah : UMNO cuma mahu selamatkan Soi Lek..

Beberapa orang penganalisa politik berpendapat media tunggangan UMNO iaitu Utusan Malaysia yang mendakwa nama Lim Guan Eng telah menggantikan Yang di-Pertuan Agong dalam khutbah jumaat hanyalah taktik UMNO untuk memenangi semula negeri Pulau Pinang.

Mereka merasakan tindakan Utusan yang menyiarkan tajuk besar “Nama Guan Eng ganti Agong - Disebut dalam doa khutbah Jumaat: Umno Pulau Pinang bantah” khusus untuk membangkitkan kemarahan masyarakat Melayu di Pulau Pinang terhadap Kerajaan Negeri Pakatan Rakyat itu…

Mungkin ada benarnya pendapat penganalisa-penganalisa politik itu.. Malangnya hanya Melayu yang menyokong UMNO yang berasa marah bila isu itu dibangkitkan.. manakala yang menyokong Pakatan Rakyat semakin membenci UMNO dan Utusan.

Menurut Zahid Hamidi perkara ini talah berlaku beberapa minggu yang lalu, jika ianya benar mengapa baru sekarang ianya dinyatakan? Kenapa penyokong UMNO yang kebetulan mendengar khutbah berkenaan tidak menyatakan bantahan selepas solat jumaat itu berakhir?

Tidak bolehkah mereka memberitahu kepada Zahid Hamidi dengan segera mengenai tuduhan itu agar Zahid boleh dengan segera memberitahu kepada Muhyiddin supaya Muhyiddin boleh dengan segera memberikan amaran kepada Lim Guan Eng?

Kenapa setelah beberapa minggu berlalu baru insiden ini dilaporkan kepada polis? itupun setelah Chua Soil Lek mengeluarkan kenyataan yang mencetuskan rasa kurang senang masyarakat Melayu..

Yang jelas disini UMNO terpaksa memainkan isu ini bagi mengalih perhatian rakyat terutamanya yang masih menyokong mereka dari terus fokus terhadap Chua Soi Lek yang mahukan 30% pegangan bumiputera didalam ekonomi dikurangkan.. atau dalam lain ayat isu ini terpaksa ditimbulkan oleh Zahid bagi menyelamatkan Soi Lek.

Tindakan Chua Soi Lek yang menyarankan agar ekuiti Bumiputera dikurangkan secara berperingkat-peringkat juga adalah bertentangan sama sekali dengan Perlembagaan Negara menurut Menteri Penerangan Komunikasi dan Kebudayaan, Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim.

Presiden MCA itu juga dalam ucapannya di Konvensyen Tahunan ke-33 MCA Kedah di Alor Setar telah berkata negara-negara Islam di seluruh dunia kurang demokrasi kerana terlalu mementingkan agama; mereka mengadakan pilihan raya tetapi pemimpin Islam veteran menikmati kuasa mutlak.

Kerana kejahilannya juga beliau berkata tahap buta huruf di negara-negara itu begitu tinggi khususnya di kalangan wanita kerana tumpuan negara-negara berkenaan adalah lebih kepada agama berbanding pendidikan.

Kedua-dua isu yang telah dinyatakan oleh Chua Soi Lek itu sendiri telah menimbulkan rasa kurang senang para penyokong UMNO terhadap Presiden MCA itu dan kemarahan oleh masyarakat melayu itu disuarakan oleh PERKASA kononnya..

Bagi mengalihkan kemarahan penyokong UMNO terhadap sekutu UMNO didalam Barisan Nasional satu isu baru perlu ditimbulkan agar kemarahan itu dapat disalurkan kepada pihak lain.

Untuk disalurkan kepada Gerakan adalah tidak mungkin kerana Gerakan juga adalah sekutu UMNO didalam Barisan Nasional.

Jadi sasaran mudah UMNO dengan dibantu oleh media yang ditunggangi oleh mereka ialah Lim Guan Eng dan DAP yang menerajui Pakatan Rakyat Pulau Pinang.

Biarpun telah dinafikan oleh pentadbiran Pakatan Rakyat Pulau Pinang di SINI,SINI dan di SINI, UMNO dan Utusan dibantu pula oleh TV3 terus memainkan isu ini..

Memang benar ada nama Guan Eng disebut didalam doa itu menurut beberapa orang sahabat, tetapi ianya disebut bukan sebagai menggantikan nama Tuan Yang Di Pertua negeri Pulau Pinang mahupun Agong sepertimana yang dihebohkan oleh UMNO dan medianya itu..

Imam yang menyebut nama Lim Guan Eng dalam Khutbah itu telah berdoa agar Lim guang Eng itu diberikan hidayah oleh Allah SWT.. supaya Lim Guang Eng masuk islam ujar orang yang umurnya hampir 60 tahun itu.. salahkah doa itu?

Kalau 20 tahu dulu UMNO menggunakan kaedah ini rakyat mungkin percaya, tetapi sekarang dimana ramai rakyat yang telah faham taktik-taktik lapuk UMNO, ianya hanya menjadi bahan ketawa..

Umno, Utusan attacks a bid to recapture Penang, say analysts

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 — Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia’s claims that Lim Guan Eng’s name had replaced the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s during Friday sermons at several mosques in the state is just a tactic to “win back” Penang, analysts said.

They felt that Utusan’s headlines yesterday- “Nama Guan Eng ganti Agong — Disebut dalam doa khutbah Jumaat: Umno Pulau Pinang bantah”, was specifically targeted at stoking up racial tension among the Malays in Penang to vote against the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) state government.

“Utusan is proving to be a racist paper with no interest in debate, merely sensationalist “reporting” designed to incite racial hatred.

“Their insistent harping on “Ketuanan Melayu” and “Malay rights” even though these concepts have no constitutional foundations, shows up their racialist and supremacist ideology,” said Universiti Malaya law lecturer Dr Azmi Sharom.

Azmi told The Malaysian Insider that he found it “strange” that such “obnoxious” attacks on the Penang leadership was not present when the state was ruled by Gerakan, which is a Chinese dominant party.

“So it is possible that Utusan’s pro Malay stance is not their main motivation, instead what is probably really motivating them is the Umno political agenda to use the race card to win back states they have lost,” said Azmi.

The Penang state government has vehemently denied Umno’s allegations which were brought up by Penang Umno chief Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi two days ago.

Ahmad Zahid claimed that the use of Guan Eng’s name had been detected a week ago during the sermon at several mosques in the Tasek Gelugor, Permatang Pauh and Jelutong areas.

State Islamic affairs and domestic trade executive councillor Malik Kassim said the sermon text prepared by the state Islamic affairs department had never replaced the name of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin with Lim’s.

But political scientist Dr Sivamurugan Pandian argued that Utusan’s report and coverage will have an effect among Malays in the island state.

Sivamurugan claimed that Ahmad Zahid’s allegations will “jeopardise” Lim’s credibility among the Malays, but added that Umno will also be affected by the latest turn of events.

“Politics is all about perception. I would say that this will impact both sides. Although Guan Eng has denied these claims, and the state religious department has come in to refute the allegations, this will affect Guan Eng’s popularity among Malays in Penang.

“Although these are still speculations and have not yet been proven, Utusan’s coverage on the issue will allow Umno to gain support among Malays,” said the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) lecturer.

Sivamurugan said that Umno’s move will also affect its own political presence in Penang, stating that Umno’s use of the “race card” will give a negative effect among other races on the island.

“In Penang, I don’t think Barisan Nasional (BN) should go after Malay support, the Malay support for BN here is already solid. They should go after the Chinese votes. By doing this, it will only give a negative impact among the Chinese.

“Similarly, Guan Eng’s popularity among the Chinese might just increase after this, as they might view what is happening as moves by political forces to take down Guan Eng,” Sivamurugan told The Malaysian Insider.

But Sivamurugan said that he did not believe that the Penang chief minister would want to “jeopardise” his position by allowing his name to replace the Agong’s name during the Friday sermon in mosques.

“I do not think that Guan Eng would want to jeopardise his position as Chief Minister by doing that.He is a politician, he will know the repercussions of such actions,” said Sivamurugan.

PR leaders have flayed BN and Utusan for “fuelling the fires of hatred” by spreading “lies” that Lim’s name had replaced the Agong’s during Friday sermons at several mosques in the state.

PR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim claimed the accusations against Lim were made out of BN’s sheer desperation to remain politically relevant, pointing out that he had personally read the text of the sermon.

“I personally monitored the situation... I read the text that was distributed and found that the allegations were unfounded.

“They were merely lies spread for the political gains of politicians who are getting increasingly desperate,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He said that allegation, made by Ahmad Zahid, was a reflection of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s failure to understand the people’s desire for a peaceful nation.

Another analyst however defended Ahmad Zahid’s claims.

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) lecturer Professor Shamsul Adabi Mamat said that he believed there were some “truths” behind the Umno man’s allegations.

“Although I believe that Guan Eng would not want to do something that would affect racial and religious sensitivities, Ahmad Zahid’s claims may have some basis.

“He (Ahmad Zahid) is a minister, he would not make something up. Maybe he had information as to what was said in some of these mosques,” Shamsul told The Malaysian Insider, in reference to Ahmad Zahid who is defence minister.

Shamsul said that it was not unusual for Utusan to carry the news, as it involved the interests of Malays.

“This affects the interests of Malays, it is reported and read by those who feel that it will affect them.

“Sometimes what is said by the mouthpieces of the opposition is even worse. Harakah once likened Guan Eng to Khalifah Umar Abdul Aziz..sentiments like these will always be there,” said Shamsul.
