Sambil menyalahkan pihak lain Lester berkata bila dihubungi “No, no, no... the guy shown in the video is totally different than whom I mentioned,”
“Let me ask you.. is he the only person in the world with that name? The photo was inserted by someone else into the video and not me. I am not good with computer stuff,”

KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 — Lester Melanyi, the man who accused Sarawak Report (SR) of doctoring 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) data, admitted today that the makers of his video confession had used the wrong photograph of the alleged documents forger.
But the former Sarawak Tribune editor insisted to Malay Mail Online that the man he named in the video as the forger — James Steward Stephen — exists and is still in contact with him.
“No, no, no... the guy shown in the video is totally different than whom I mentioned,” he said when contacted.
“Let me ask you.. is he the only person in the world with that name? The photo was inserted by someone else into the video and not me. I am not good with computer stuff,” he added.
Lester refused to divulge details on the identity of the person or persons who had edited his video confession, merely saying that he had only told “the person” the name of the so-called web designer responsible for forging the 1MDB documents for SR.
“And that person thought it was this James Steward I was talking about... he thought that guy was the real James Steward,” he explained.
Malay Mail Online reported this morning that the photograph in Lester’s video confession was of one “James Steward”, a British railway customer service manager.
Steward’s employer, rail service provider Abellio Greater Anglia, confirmed with Malay Mail Online early this morning that although the picture used in the video is of its employee “James Steward”, the man does not have any connections with Malaysia.
Admitting there was a slip-up, Lester told Malay Mail Online that he is still in contact with the “real” James Steward Stephen who he said wrote to him recently.
“I am not that stupid to put him as a railway station manager. I am still in contact with the real James.
“He did email me after the latest report. I am still in discussion with him on what do and who to meet,” Lester added.
The former journalist also insisted that the blunder would not affect his credibility, insisting that he has only spoken the truth.
“Not really.. .because I am talking the truth. Eventually the truth will be known,” he said.
Last Thursday, Lester had admitted to Malay Mail Online that he was paid to expose a grand conspiracy ostensibly involving Malaysia’s opposition and SR founder Clare Rewcastle-Brown to unseat Najib using purportedly doctored leaks of documents on 1MDB.
Lester’s admission came a day after Umno minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan told reporters that he had evidence that SR and its editors had fabricated the alleged document leaks in an attempt to discredit Najib.
Kah.. kah... kah...
