Kuala Lumpur: Presiden sebuah parti politik dikesan menjadi dalang sindiket penipuan 'kad kebal' kepada warga asing yang tidak mempunyai sebarang dokumen.
Penggunaan kad kebal itu dibongkar selepas sepasukan anggota Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Komersil (JSJK) Selangor menahan dua suspek di Subang Jaya, 22 Jun lalu.
Kad perlindungan itu dijual dengan harga RM400 sehingga RM1,000 kepada mana-mana warga asing.
Sindiket yang beroperasi sejak awal tahun itu akan mengeluarkan kad yang mempunyai kod QR, maklumat dan data serta borang permohonan kewarganegaraan kepada Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN).
Menteri Dalam Negeri, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin berkata, individu yang ditahan ialah Presiden Parti Perpaduan Rakyat Sabah (PPRS) Mohd Arshad Abdul Mualap, 48, dan seorang lagi individu Mohamad Amkah Ahmad, 46.
"Sindiket menjanjikan kepada mangsa bahawa pemilik kad akan menerima kelebihan seperti pendidikan dan perubatan sama seperti warganegara ini.
"Kedua-dua suspek ini sudah dituduh di Mahkamah Sesyen Shah Alam, hari ini mengikut Seksyen 420 Kanun Keseksaan," katanya pada sidang media di Ibu Pejabat Polis Bukit Aman, hari ini.
Hamzah berkata, orang ramai terutama warga asing diingatkan hanya terdapat empat kad pengenalan yang sah dikeluarkan di negara ini.
"Untuk menjadi penduduk di negara ini kita ada empat kad pengenalan. Pertama, kad pengenalan berwarna yang diberikan kepada warganegara Malaysia.
"Yang kedua ialah kad pengenalan berwarna merah diberikan kepada penduduk tetap, ketiga kad pengenalan berwarna hijau ialah pemaustutin sementara berstatus bukan warganegara dan keempat adalah kad pengenalan berwarna coklat," katanya lapor
